Why Risk It

Why Risk It?
Today’s equipment requirements and the demand for consistent, reliable, and on-demand safety related response times are a necessary reality in the service and repair of equipment. At Aeromotive Services we recognize the importance of adhering to quality standards.
Did you know that wire harness manufacturers are required to follow the “Class” of a build.
Safety systems are a “Class 3” build. Meaning, performance-on-demand is critical, equipment downtime can-not be tolerated, end-use environment may be uncommonly harsh, and the equipment must function when required. The operator and its systems DEMAND 100% transmission of signals, power, communication and actuation of related systems.
Here are the “Product Classes”:
Class 1
General Electronic Products: A major requirement is the function of the completed assembly. The easiest way to remember this type of build is the electric toy car.
Class 2
Dedicated Service Electronic Products: Consider a laptop for example. continued performance and extended life is required, and for which uninterrupted service is desired but not critical. Consider the laptop, a bummer if it doesn’t power up. But, not the end of the world.
Class 3High Performance Electronic Products: Includes products where continued performance or performance-on-demand is critical, equipment downtime can-not be tolerated, end-use environment may be uncommonly harsh, and the equipment must function when required, such as life support systems and other critical systems. Consider your ADAS and SRS requirements. Why risk it? Replace it.
Here’s a video that will give you an idea of the difficulty in achieving a Class 3 build.
